The SNLE passing score, and when results arrive
The SNLE pass mark is 500 on a 200–800 scale. This page explains what that number is, how it was set, and when and in what form your result reaches you.
The number
The SNLE passing score is 500 on a reporting scale of 200 to 800.
Note carefully: the medical exam, the SMLE, passes at 560 on the same scale, not 500. The two belong to different exams, and confusing them is among the most common errors in second-hand sources.
It is not a percentage of your answers
The 200–800 range is a scaled score, not a count of correct answers or a percentage of them, and there is no fixed formula converting one into the other across forms of the exam.

How the number was set
In April 2017 SCFHS ran a rigorous standard-setting exercise with a diverse panel of 14 nurses, which recommended a passing score of 500 on the 200–800 reporting scale. The Central Assessment Committee then reviewed and approved it.
The line was drawn by practitioners rather than administrators, and it represents the level of performance considered acceptable for safe practice.
When your result arrives, and what is in it
Results are not provided instantly. Psychometric analysis runs during the window-closing period, and results are announced within two to six weeks of the end of a test window.
You receive two documents: a statement of results and a feedback report comparing your performance with other candidates. Build on the second if you intend to re-sit. See attempts and retakes.
