الشرح

Core Concept: Risk factors for coronary artery disease and acute myocardial infarction (AMI).

Clinical Presentation: Crushing chest pain, diaphoresis, shortness of breath, and nausea.

Diagnosis: 12-lead ECG (ST-segment changes) and cardiac biomarkers (Troponin) are the gold standards.

Management: Risk factor modification (smoking cessation, lipid control, BP management) is key to prevention. Major risk factors for AMI include hypertension, hyperlipidemia, smoking, diabetes, obesity, and family history. Hemophilia is a genetic bleeding disorder characterized by a deficiency in clotting factors (VIII or IX). It predisposes patients to prolonged bleeding and hemarthrosis, not thrombosis or atherosclerosis, and therefore is NOT a risk factor for an acute myocardial infarction.
